"The HP 14 is by no means a slouch. This Chromebook has been able to take just about anything I've thrown at it with ease. Dual monitors, a dozen tabs, HD video playback, and more without a noticeable impact on performance. The HP 14 brings the same processor found in a few other Chromebook such as the Acer C720 and Dell Chromebook 11, an Intel Celeron processor."

"Chrome OS is having a moment. Manufacturers around the world are starting to make Chromebooks, and many have promised to bring them out of the bargain basement. A Chromebook could soon become a truly viable notebook, and not just a living room companion or your family's fourth laptop. On paper, the HP Chromebook 14 is the best attempt yet — not to mention the most colorful. I bought a pink laptop. It's part computer, part decoration. Part the future?"

"The Chromebook 14 offers three cheery color choices: peach coral (a bright, silghtly orangey red), snow white, and our eval unit's ocean turquoise. The color covers the outer surfaces and the display bezel. The colored plastic's slightly soft feel is nice, though it seems to hold greasy fingerprints easily (and we weren't bingeing on potato chips while reviewing this product). The unit weighs a little over 4 pounds, and the AC adapter weighs another 0.7 pounds."

"For anyone who craves connections, the Chromebook 14 has you covered. The system has two USB 3.0 ports, a dedicated HDMI out-port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Kensington Security Slot on its left side. The right side of the laptop, meanwhile, houses a DC charging port, an SD card reader, a SIM card slot and a USB 2.0 port."

"The experience is pretty much the same as with my Samsung 5 550 Chromebook. The processor is slightly better performance-wise as far as the spec sheet is concerned, no noticeable difference though. Except of course for the 9.5 hour battery life this one boasts. I haven't owned it long enough to really test that but I can tell you the little battery symbol has been very low ever since last night and doesn't appear to have moved much. The Haswell chip in this machine seems to be living up to it's reputation."

"No longer relegated to the bargain bin of design, Chromebooks are finally attractive. The HP Chromebook 14 is a prime example, with offerings in three colors (snow white, ocean turquoise and coral peach). The lid, bezel and bottom of the notebook are all coated with a soft-touch finish in one of these playful colors, while the deck on all versions is a sand-blasted aluminum. This chassis is arguably even nicer to look at and hold than the all-plastic Toshiba Chromebook, which itself gives off a classy MacBook Air vibe."

"One thing you can't knock this Chromebook for is onboard connectivity. Over on the right edge is the proprietary charging port so sadly it doesn't support USB charging like the HP Chromebook 11. It's joined by a SD card slot, a USB 2.0 port and further down is a 3G MicroSIM slot that comes with the more expensive model. Over on the left edge you'll find headphone/mic jack, two USB 3.0 ports and a full-sized HDMI port that's something of a tight fit when plugging in a HDMI cable."
